Carter Teranes is a graphic designer based in Richmond, VA. He is currently working toward his MFA in Graphic Design at Virginia Commonwealth University. He creates process-driven and typographically led work with an emphasis on concept and craft. His approach considers how structure, form, and systems shape and create meaning across print and digital media. His practice consists of self-initiated and freelance projects, working intentionally with organizations and studio teams. Currently, he runs To Ti Esti, an independent publishing practice interested in exploring sequence, process, and the essence of what makes a book a book. Under this name, he produces limited-edition publications that approach form as content.
